Taylor
Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons one who was able to seamlessly transition from the country music scene to making her an iconic pop culture icon and conquering the world in the process. Swift shed her roots in country music as if she was a second skin and showed she had the finest pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to follow the zeitgeist of popular music out on the road. Her talents could be seen in the first songs she released, most notably the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on the second album Fearless which came out in 2008, Swift could identify the person she was and reach a wide audience. Fearless went on to become a global hit and not just in the United States (where it was certified with six platinum awards for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") as well as in Canada Australia as well as the U.K. and many other countries. Swift took off to the peak of stardom with Speak Now. The popularity of Swift only grew over her next three albums - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017) -- and saw her move confidently into a pop realm that she had already been a part of. She stayed at the top of pop even after she changed her signature style in her twin albums, folklore and Evermore in the year 2020.
